      報告人簡介:

      單衛星,男,西北農(nong)林科技(ji)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)教授,農(nong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)院院長。獲西北農(nong)業(ye)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)農(nong)學(xue)(xue)(xue)學(xue)(xue)(xue)士(shi)、碩士(shi)學(xue)(xue)(xue)位和理學(xue)(xue)(xue)博士(shi)學(xue)(xue)(xue)位;1996.1-2001.4,美(mei)國加州(zhou)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)戴維斯分校從事博士(shi)后研(yan)究;2001.5-2006.3,澳大利亞(ya)國立(li)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)任職研(yan)究科學(xue)(xue)(xue)家;2005.9-至今(jin),回國到西北農(nong)林科技(ji)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)任教。

      入(ru)選(xuan)教育(yu)部(bu)長(chang)江學(xue)(xue)(xue)者特聘教授(shou),國(guo)(guo)家杰(jie)出(chu)青年科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)基金(jin)(jin)(jin)獲得者,百千萬人(ren)才(cai)工(gong)程國(guo)(guo)家級(ji)人(ren)選(xuan)暨有突出(chu)貢獻中青年專家,國(guo)(guo)家馬鈴薯產(chan)業技(ji)術體系崗位科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)家。長(chang)期致力于作物(wu)(wu)卵(luan)菌病(bing)害(hai)成災(zai)機理及病(bing)害(hai)防控研究(jiu),探索作物(wu)(wu)廣譜和持久抗病(bing)性。先(xian)后主(zhu)持國(guo)(guo)家自然科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)基金(jin)(jin)(jin)重點項(xiang)目(mu)、國(guo)(guo)家自然科(ke)(ke)學(xue)(xue)(xue)基金(jin)(jin)(jin)國(guo)(guo)際(ji)(地區)合(he)作與交流重點項(xiang)目(mu)、國(guo)(guo)家外(wai)專局高(gao)等學(xue)(xue)(xue)校學(xue)(xue)(xue)科(ke)(ke)創(chuang)新引智計劃(111項(xiang)目(mu))等項(xiang)目(mu),在(zai)Cell、Molecular Plant、New Phytologist、Plant Physiology、Molecular Plant Pathology等國(guo)(guo)際(ji)期刊發表研究(jiu)論文50余篇。

     《生命科(ke)學(xue)研究進(jin)展》是西(xi)北農林科(ke)技大學(xue)博(bo)士一年級課程(cheng)。該課程(cheng)將邀請生命科(ke)學(xue)不同領域的(de)優秀教授(shou)講授(shou)各領域的(de)最新研究進(jin)展和他們自己的(de)科(ke)研工作。

Title: Dissection of plant susceptibility provides novel gene resources for improving crop disease resistance

Introduction of Speaker:

Dr. Weixing Shan received his Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees from Northwestern Agricultural University. He did postdoctoral research in the Department of Plant Pathology, University of California at Davis, and worked as Research Fellow in The Australian National University before being appointed as professor of plant pathology in Northwest A&F University in 2005. His research is focused on plant-pathogen interactions and oomycete crop diseases, using Phytophthora as model species. He is particularly interested in molecular basis of compatible plant-oomycete interaction for developing improved disease resistance strategies in potato against late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans. He cloned the first oomycete avirulence gene, Avr1b, observed and discovered novel mechanisms underlying the entry of eukaryotic pathogen effectors into host cells.

Dr. Shan is a MOE Changjiang Professor. His research has been supported by prestigious grants from National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Science and Technology, including National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has published over 50 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including Cell, Molecular Plant, New Phytologist, Plant Physiology, and Molecular Plant Pathology, etc.
